One year after the flood

What’s left of Souris’ famous swinging bridge.

Funny story: the bridge is (was) famous for being the longest swinging suspension bridge in Canada til a town in Ontario snaked that claim by building one 10 feet longer.
Now that the bridge got taken out by the flood, It’ll be 15 feet longer when they rebuild it.

Finally snagged a copy at McNally’s!

Finally made it to Parlour Coffee ! They do good work. Like a little slice of Mount Pleasant…Recommended if you’re in Winnipeg.

Peacocks wander the streets of Souris. They’re loud. And not very smart. (Taken with Instagram)

Canadian history textbook ca. 1958

This picture is next to the unit about Residential Schools.

Yeah right jk

Watched an interview with Wab Kinew on Strombo (Canadian TV, I have missed you) last night.  Finding my auntie’s old Canadian history textbook earlier in the afternoon linked up nicely with that.
